CHEFA is pleased to support LEARN and LEARN Project Inc. in the financing of a new early education magnet school planned for Waterford, Connecticut through a proposed Series A bond issuance.
LEARN, a Connecticut Regional Education Service Center established in 1967, serves 25 towns and 24 school districts across New Haven, Middlesex, and New London Counties. The organization provides educational services and programming throughout the region and currently owns and operates four magnet schools while serving as the operator for two additional magnet schools outside of its district.
Bond proceeds will be used to support the acquisition, construction, equipping, and furnishing of a new early education school facility in Waterford. The project represents an important investment in educational infrastructure and expanded learning opportunities for children and families in southeastern Connecticut.
The initiative is also expected to benefit from the Connecticut School Construction Grant program, through which LEARN may receive reimbursement for up to 95% of eligible construction costs.
Through its financing programs, CHEFA helps nonprofit organizations and educational institutions across Connecticut access capital for transformative projects that strengthen communities, improve facilities, and expand access to essential services. Projects like LEARN’s new school demonstrate the long-term impact that strategic investments in education can have for students, families, and the broader community.
