The Connecticut Health and Educational Facilities Authority (CHEFA) awarded more than $1 million in grants in its FY 2022 CHEFA Nonprofit Grant Program. The grants were made in the education, healthcare, and childcare sectors.
The eighteen awards provide grants to entities in three out of the eight Connecticut counties, including: Hartford, New Haven, and Fairfield. In addition, many of the programs funded by these grants will be conducted in multiple counties, and statewide. Betty Sugerman Weintraub, CHEFA Manager of Grant Programs and Philanthropic Outreach stated “CHEFA continues to provide vital support to Connecticut nonprofit organizations. Our grants for both capital expenditures and program grants are making a meaningful difference for residents of the state.”
CHEFA’s Board of Directors voted at their May 18th Board Meeting to award,
$1,007,724 in total funds.
CHEFA’s Grant Program was established in 2002 and has provided more than $42 million dollars since inception to CT nonprofit organizations supporting capital projects/purchases, and programs.
CHEFA is one of the only funders providing grants statewide in Connecticut and funds both program and capital project grants.
