FY 2025 Nonprofit Grant Program Update

January 3 – CHEFA received Letters of Interest (LOI) from 203 Connecticut organizations requesting funding for programs and/or projects through the FY25 Nonprofit Grant Program. This is a record number of requests, reflecting the substantial need for support within the priority sectors of Childcare, Culture, Education, Healthcare, Human Services, and Long-Term Care/Senior Living Facilities. Following review by CHEFA Officers, 43 organizations have been invited to submit a full application. Funding recommendations will be made to the CHEFA Board of Directors at its May meeting and awards will be announced in June.

Please note that CHEFA does not fund basic human needs (e.g., food/soup kitchen/pantries, shelter/housing). Grant awards are subject to funding availability. For more information, please email Jen Chapman, Grants Program Manager, at jchapman@chefa.com

CHEFA Awards $1.35 Million in Grants to Support Capital Expenditure and Community Needs

June 1, 2024 – The Connecticut Health and Educational Facilities Authority (CHEFA) awarded approximately $1.35 million in grants through its FY 2024 CHEFA Nonprofit Grant Program. This year, CHEFA received 112 Letters of Interest, from which 45 organizations were invited to submit full applications. The grant requests, totaling over $2.6 million, addressed a wide array of community needs, reflecting the high demand for resources across CHEFA’s primary sectors of healthcare, education, childcare, and culture.

The grants represent investments in our four core priority sectors that every day are meeting the needs of residents throughout Connecticut. CHEFA’s support of the Nonprofit community through grants, tax-exempt bonds and loans, and other financing continues to provide resources to essential organizations working to solidify the fabric of our state.

Jeanette W. Weldon, CHEFA Executive Director

CHEFA’s Board of Directors voted at their May 15th Board Meeting to award $1,344,500, representing a significant commitment to the nonprofit community. CHEFA’s Grant Program was established in 2002 and has provided more than $50 million since its inception to CT nonprofit organizations.
