CHEFA Awards Over $1M Through FY 2026 John M. Biancamano Client Grant Program
November 17, 2025 – The Connecticut Health and Educational Facilities Authority (CHEFA) is pleased to announce more than $1 million in grants awarded through its FY 2026 John M. Biancamano Client Grant Program. Funds were awarded to 17 nonprofit organizations to support programs and capital expenditures in the childcare, education, healthcare, and human services & wellness sectors.
“These grants are investments in nonprofit organizations working every day to meet the needs of Connecticut residents. CHEFA’s grant programs, along with the Authority’s low-interest loans and tax-exempt bonds, support vital services in communities across the state,” said Jeanette W. Weldon, CHEFA Executive Director.
CHEFA’s Board of Directors voted on October 15, 2025, to award a total of $1,033,576 in the FY26 Client Grant Program cycle, representing a significant commitment to the nonprofit community.
CHEFA Grant Programs Manager Jen Chapman noted that more than a third of the grants were awarded to organizations providing statewide services. “CHEFA is committed to serving as a resource for nonprofit organizations that provide a wide range of vital services for Connecticut’s communities.”
CHEFA’s Grant Program has provided more than $53.5 million to the state’s nonprofit organizations since its inception in 2002. A list of the FY 2026 Client Grant awardees can be found here.
