Denise E. Aguilera

General Counsel

Ms. Aguilera is General Counsel for the Connecticut Health and Educational Facilities Authority (CHEFA).  Prior to joining CHEFA in 2016, she was a staff attorney for the Connecticut Office of Early Childhood, from 2006 through 2011 she served as General Counsel to the Hartford Retirement System, and from 1994 through 2006 she was an Assistant Corporation Counsel for the City of Hartford.  She is a member of the National Association of Bond Lawyers and was previously a board member of the Connecticut Association for Human Services, Connecticut Public Pension Forum, Institutional Review Board of the Connecticut Office of Early Childhood, Hartford Area Habitat for Humanity, and Aids Project Hartford.  

Ms. Aguilera holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Saint Joseph College and a law degree from the University of Connecticut School of Law.
